When should I book a newborn session?
It is never too early to book! My calendar fills up quickly. You can book your session now, and we'll schedule the exact date after baby is born. I take a limited number of sessions each month so that I can leave space for babies that arrive earlier or later than their due date.
When is the best time to do the session?
Newborn sessions are scheduled approximately 10-18 days after the baby is born. If your little one is older than this, no worries! Although it is not ideal, it's still possible to get beautiful photos. Milestone sessions can be schedule at anytime...Recommended ages for milestone sessions are 4 months/smiling, 6-9months/sitting, one year/standing, 18 months/walking, and 2, 3, & 4 year birthdays.
How do i book a Newborn session without knowing when my baby will arrive?
Once your session is booked, I will place your due date on my calendar and hold spaces near your due date. If your baby arrives earlier or later than expected I will have room to accommodate. After your baby is born, I ask that you contact me within 3 days so that we can plan a date and time for the session.
Do you offer a package where parents and siblings are included?
In October 2023 I decided to make the switch to baby only packages. I no longer offer newborn or milestone plus sessions.
How long does the session last?
Newborn sessions often run long due to the nature of frequent soothing. Expect a minimum of 2-3 hours in the studio. I do not rush sessions and allow for baby to take as many breaks as needed. Your baby's comfort and safety are my top priority.
Milestone sessions typically take about 1 hour or less depending on the baby/child.
Where does the session take place?
Sessions take place at my studio located in Forest Lake, MN just off highway 35 & 97. Outdoor family session will take place at an outdoor location within 30 miles of Forest Lake, MN. If you have a special location you'd like to use for your family photos contact me and we can discuss options.
Do we need to bring anything to the session?
I provide everything needed for your newborn at the session. All you need to bring along is anything needed for feeding your little one...I've got the rest. I personally style each session and always ask for your input on colors. My style is very clean, simple, and minimal. If you have a special lovey (ie handmade blanket, family heirloom, etc) that you would like to bring along to be used in your session please let me know ahead of time, so that I can prepare for it.
Will I receive digital photos from my session?
Yes! All sessions include 20 high resolution fully edited photos via digital download and clients are welcome to print them as they wish.
