FAQs

When should I book a newborn session?

It is never too early to book! My calendar fills up quickly, and I take a limited number of sessions each month (This allows me to have space for babies that arrive earlier or later than their due date). Because of this, when possible, it is best to book while you are still pregnant.

Do you offer a package where parents and siblings are included?

In October 2023 I decided to make the switch to a baby only package. I no longer offer family or sibling packages.

Can I request specific poses?

My style is baby led. I have a though-out workflow that allows me to work through each pose and adjust or skip poses based on the individual baby. My years of experience posing newborns had taught me how to pick up on subtle cues form the baby, letting me know something is making them uncomfortable. It is my goal to get as much variety in a session as possible, while keeping your baby comfortable and calm. As long as a baby is safe, happy and content I will work through every pose, so there really isn’t a need for requests. With that being said, if there is a particular pose that is very important to you feel free to let me know.

Is your business insured? Are you a legal business?

Yes. Tiny Me Photography is an insured LLC and a legal, tax-paying Minnesota business. This is such an important question. Any photographer who works with newborns and babies should have liability insurance as well as proper licensing to do business. Having liability insurance demonstrates that a photographer is putting your baby first and doing everything possible to protect them during your session. Making sure you are working with an insured legal business can put your mind at ease, knowing you are working with a true professional and not just a hobbyist.

How do I book a Newborn session without knowing when my baby will arrive?

Once your session is booked, I will place your due date on my calendar and hold spaces near your due date. If your baby arrives earlier or later than expected I will have room to accommodate. After your baby is born, I ask that you contact me within 3 days so that we can plan a date and time for the session.

Where does the session take place?

Sessions take place at my in-home studio located in Forest Lake, MN just off highway 35 & 97.

Do we need to bring anything to the session?

I provide everything needed for your newborn at the session. All you need to bring along is anything needed for feeding your baby...I've got the rest. I personally style each session and always ask for your input. My style is very clean, simple, and minimal. If you have a special lovey (ie handmade blanket, family heirloom, etc) that you would like to bring along to be used in your session just let me know ahead of time, so that I can prepare for it.

How long have you been working with newborns?

Tiny Me Photography opened in 2013. Owner and Photographer, Rebecca Cramer, has 10+ years of experience photographing newborns. She has over 600 newborn sessions under her belt. Her gentleness and patience with little ones sets her apart time and time again.

Do you work with an assistant or spotter?

I prefer to work on my own asking parents to assist with poses that require help. I have found that parents are the very best and most trustworthy assistants, and most of them enjoy helping out (holding the baby between set ups and spotting a pose or two). I find this to be a safer option and it also limits the number of people being exposed to your baby’s fragile immune system.

When is the best time to have the session?

Newborn sessions are scheduled approximately 8-18 days after the baby is born. Sessions are scheduled Monday-Friday at 9:30am (this time is purposeful). If your little one is older than 18 days please feel free to contact me…Although it is not ideal, it's still possible to get beautiful newborn photos.

How long does the session last?

Newborn sessions often run long due to the nature of frequent soothing. Expect a minimum of 2-3 hours in the studio. I do not rush sessions and allow for baby to take as many breaks as needed. Your baby's comfort and safety are my top priority.

Will I receive digital photos from my session?

Yes! The session include 30 high resolution fully edited photos. Photos are delivered by digital download. You will have the option to purchase professional prints (from an online gallery) if you choose. There is no pressure to purchase prints, and my clients are always welcome to print on their own.

Do I get to choose my photos?

Yes. After your session is complete, I will send you a link (same day) to the digital proofs. You get to choose which 30 will be edited for you to keep. All of this is done in an online gallery from the comfort of your home…no need to come back.(Additional photos can be purchased during the proofing process).
